Centrifugal cast tubes

These are used among others in petrochemical, heat treatment and steel industry.In comparison to tubes made from forged materials with similar chemical composition, the cast equivalent has a higher creep rupture strength at elevated temperatures. This is due to the positive influence of the casting process resulting in a coarser grain and using a higher C-content.
This is one of reasons why centrifugal cast tubes are preferred at higher temperatures instead of forged tubes.
The G force will automatically bring inclusions and other impurities to the inner surface, which is another advantage of the spinning process. As a result the centrifugal cast tubes are of a superior homogeneous quality.
For some applications the inner layer can be removed by boring to obtain a smooth inner surface.
