Pumps & Valves

Centrifugal pumps are often equipped with various type of cast impellers. The Shaw Process provides the best properties needed to cast complex products. This type of ceramic moulding makes it possible to achieve best mould stability in combination with a smooth surface roughness and dimensional accuracy. A shrouded pump impeller, for example. The choice of ceramic ingredients determine the core stability. It also allows for very complex impellers to be cast.

Shrouded pump impellers, produced according the Shaw process have proven many times to obtain the best pump yields, based on the combination of dimensional accuracy and surface roughness. Using sand moulding, for some castings in super duplex materials and nickel base alloys, the material is molten with vacuum melting furnaces. This is very often needed to cast thin wall and complex geometries.
